Our director
Lynn Larkin is the founder & director of Mary’s Montessori. Since 2009, she has been educating young minds through the Montessori Method, cultivating community, and inspiring the flourishing of children. She received her certificate in American Montessori (AMS) from the Princeton Center for Teacher Education in addition to her masters in special education from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). She also holds a BA in Psychology, Special Education, and Elementary Education.
After raising her own four children, working in both traditional and special education environments, Lynn has transformed her decades of experience educating young minds into creating the ideal in-home, family-style learning environment, following the values of Dr. Maria Montessori.
“She and her staff are currently enrolled in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd training, and incorporate these principles into Mary’s Montessori. Lynn and her husband love visiting Cape May, New Jersey, diving into DIY projects at home and in the garden, and travelling around the country to visit their four grown children.
Our community
At Mary’s Montessori, you’re more than a number. You AND your child become valued members of our community. Whether it is eating family-style meals together, sharing circle time with Mom and Dad, or venturing out on family field trips, we place a high premium on quality time, together.
We offer multiple opportunities for parents and families to join our school day, connect with each other, and become part of our Montessori Community. Children often create sibling-like bonds with their fellow classmates, forming happy connections that last for years!
Health & Safety
We care about your child’s health and safety. Our small class size and home environment provide a protected space to minimize germ exposure.
Our health and wellness guidelines feature:
- Well planned spaces with rounded corners and soft surfaces
- Secure areas that keep children constantly within sight
- Daily cleaning and sanitization of surfaces and materials
- Promoting outdoor play as much as possible
